A Message to the Next Generation
Hello, this is Takahiro Ichiki from Sync Logistics.
Today, I would like to share my experiences as a fresh graduate and pass on what I have learned to the younger generation of employees.
■ Starting a new graduate recruitment
Our company started hiring fresh graduates four years ago, welcoming a few new members each year.
This April, we welcomed our fresh graduates for the fourth time.
Now, we’ve begun recruitment for the fifth time, and we will welcome those who will join us next year.
Looking back at our fresh graduate hiring journey, our focus in the first and second years was on building and defining the Sync Logistics culture.
From the third year onward, as our foundation became stronger, we shifted our focus to hiring people with the potential to become future leaders.
■My Starting Point
Looking back on my time as a fresh graduate, I was fortunate to start my career in such a supportive environment.
My direct supervisor was a Mongolian woman. She was demanding when it came to work, but otherwise kind and gentle, and that balance was one of her many strengths. She never treated me differently simply because I was a fresh graduate. Instead, she expected me to conduct myself as a professional in the field of logistics from the very beginning.
But working with a boss like hers helped me grow a lot.
Since it was my first time working in logistics, I often found it difficult to handle situations without fully understanding the background and flow of logistics work.
Because the company was fair and genuinely listened to fresh graduates’ ideas, I was gradually given more and more responsibility.
■Unforgettable joy
About nine months after joining the company, I began to truly understand how logistics and export work.
That’s when a strong idea took root:
“What if I built my own logistics service?”
It wasn’t just a thought—it was the start of a real drive to create something new from within the company.
Of course, it wasn’t like we could just jump into a new business right away.
I had to try all sorts of things, and I had countless conversations with my boss before anything started to take shape.
And finally, my company president said yes to my idea.
It is that idea that became the very first step of Sync Logistics today.
I launched the project two years after I joined the company.
I was appointed Division Manager.
I still remember how I felt when I got it. Joy slowly filled my heart.
In that moment, I felt two things at once — a deep sense of responsibility and genuine excitement.
That mix of emotions made the moment truly unforgettable.
Now, more than ten years have passed since I started, and I’m in a position to welcome fresh graduates myself.
I always hope that they—and everyone I meet—will have the courage to take on new challenges.
I want them to experience the same joy and sense of growth that I was fortunate enough to feel in my early days.
Thank you very much for reading.
